COVID-19 topmost worry of urban Indians: Survey

While India sees a fall in new COVID-19 infections, coronavirus has surfaced as the leading concern among urban Indians and people across the globe in February, according to a monthly survey conducted by Ipsos.

According to the survey titled ‘What Worries the World’, unemployment is among the top worries among urban Indians, with a 2% increase in worry levels in comparison with January. Around 33% of global citizens reported COVID-19 as their top worry, while 31% said their top worry was poverty and social inequality. Around 29% said it was unemployment.

Among urban Indians, 43% reported that COVID-19 was their topmost worry, while 40% said it was unemployment, and 28% cited their top worry as financial and political corruption. The survey also found that India is the second most optimistic market (75%), after Saudi Arabia (84%).
